ARRA Grant-Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing

Mountain Projects Community Action Agency has been awarded a grant for Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing for Haywood and Jackson Counties through the American Recovery and Re-Investment Act.

These funds will be targeted to those facing immediate homelessness (within seven days). Applicants will need to prove they are facing homelessness and have the ability to become stable with limited assistance. The funds will not be able to be used for mortgage assistance.

Several conditions must be met to receive assistance including a yearly income less than:

	Haywood:	Jackson
1 Person household	$17,450	$17,550
2 Person household	$19,950	$20,100
3 Person household	$22,450	$22,600
4 Person household	$24,950	$25,100
5 Person household	$26,950	$27,100

Assets must be less than $2,000, a lease must be in place if requesting rental assistance, and the landlord must be willing to have their rental unit inspected by HUD standards.

Due to paperwork requirements appointments must be scheduled in advance. No appointments will be scheduled before November 16, 2009.
